Dominican shortstop Adrián Beltré and American catcher Joe Mauer are at the top of the MLB Hall of Fame list who will be eligible for the first time to enter the MLB Cooperstown Hall of Fame and who will be voted on by the members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA).

In addition to these brilliant ballplayers, there is an important list of Latin names that shone in the Majors and could be immortalized: the Dominicans Bartolo Colón, José Bautista, and José Reyes; the Mexican Adrián 'Titán' González; and the Venezuelan Víctor Martínez. Along with them, Chase Utley, David Wright, Brandon Phillips, Matt Holliday, and James Shields are also included.

The 2024 Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, July 21

The voting will not be an easy task as there will be a special consideration for merit in the league such as Manny Ramirez (eighth year) and Alex Rodriguez (third), Venezuelans Omar Vizquel (seventh) and Bobby Abreu (fifth), Curacao native Andruw Jones (seventh) and Americans Gary Sheffield (tenth), Billy Wagner (ninth), Todd Helton and Andy Pettitte (sixth).

The announcement of the 2024 generation will be made on a special Hall of Fame program on Major League Baseball's TV channel on January 23. Candidates must receive a minimum of 75 percent of votes from members of the BBWAA, which is comprised of journalists with at least a decade of uninterrupted baseball coverage.

Applicants nominated as managers, umpires, and executives

The ballplayers who are elected will join the candidates chosen by a vote of the Contemporary Era Committee for managers, umpires, and executives, which will announce its results on December 3, during the winter meetings.

The list includes legendary managers Jim Leyland, Lou Piniella, Cito Gaston, and Davey Johnson; umpires Joe West and Ed Montague and executives Hank Peters and Bill White make up this year's ballot. All, except Peters, are alive.
