Clayton Kershaw who became an institution with the Los Angeles Dodgers and is currently recovering from a shoulder injury was the centerpiece of a parody account that claimed he had just been signed with the New York Yankees for a whopping 5-year $100 Million contract and a no-trade clause.

FaxSports MLB posted the picture of Kershaw in Yankees uniform

According to a parody account that photoshopped Clayton Kershaw while wearing the Yankees uniform and shaved his iconic beard to follow the Yankee's uniform protocol, the pitcher had already signed. "The Yankees got their man! Clayton Kershaw is signing a 5-year, $100M deal with a full no-trade clause, sources tell Fax Sports. Brian Cashman on the deal: "We are always looking for aging veterans who were really good, and we always want to get players that are currently injured, and Clayton is the best of both worlds."

Immediately after, fans of both the Dodgers and Yankees began commenting about the 'fake news' "Not true!! Had me going there for a bit. Kershaw would sign either for the Rangers or the Dodgers. He hasn't made his mind up yet." Said a fan.

However, the account doubled down claiming they had the truth "Just double-checked, it's true. They informed Close friends and family first".

Others entertained the idea and claimed it was not as bad as some believed, as another fan quipped "Honestly? I wouldn't be upset at all if they signed him for a year or two. He's not particularly old, 35 isn't obscene, especially since he had a great season this year. He's certainly gone downhill since his prime, but he's still an excellent pitcher."

All in all, some celebrated the joke and claimed it was "This is one of the best FAXes yet"
